        Use as a starting formulation only. Each dose is interpolated from the light and dark concentrations stored in the Excel catalogue, then scaled by its contribution to the blend. For time-controlled references, the app uses the mean listed concentration. Lab* values do not fully describe the physical interaction between dyes, so confirm every proposal with a laboratory trial.
        How the match is calculated

        For each dye, the app finds the closest point along the Lab* segment measured from the light sample to the dark sample, then calculates the CIEDE2000 distance. Results are indicative: illuminant, observer, instrument geometry, finish and process must match the catalogue measurement conditions.

        The “very close”, “close” and “verify” ratings are initial working thresholds. They should be refined after comparison with visual and production acceptance.

        Blend suggestions first place each dye at the point on its light-to-dark segment closest to the target L*. The concentration at that point is linearly interpolated from the two g/L values in the Excel catalogue. The app then tests blend ratios in 5% steps, converts each contribution to g/L, sums the total dose, interpolates L*, a* and b*, and ranks every candidate with CIEDE2000.
